Rodrigo Londoño Echeverri, head of the Farc political party and former member of the Secretariat of the extinct guerrilla of the same name, ratified the version of being the “only” responsible for the murder of the conservative leader Álvaro Gómez Hurtado.

“Dr. Álvaro Gómez Hurtado deserves to rest in peace. We consider it elemental humanity that they allow him to do so, that they stop victimizing him over and over again in order to satisfy aspirations,” Londoño says in an open letter addressed to Álvaro Leyva Durán.
“We are solely responsible for his death, please stop looking for the drowned man upstream,” he says.

In addition, in the document they once again express their commitment to the truth: “Doctor Leyva, having confessed this and other crimes for us, we join his cry for the truth. Only in this way will we close the horrible page of war, “he adds.
In the letter, in addition, the leader of the extinct guerrilla reiterated the following message: “Today more than ever we are aware of the barbarity that surrounds the nefarious idea according to which the one who makes it pays. Thinking like this led our nation to the abyss. Doctor Leyva, you are absolutely right. The Final Peace Agreement is the open door to the Colombia that the next generations deserve. “
The ratification by Londoño comes after former Minister Leiva Durán made public his proposal to create the National Movement for Truth, to be an instrument with which he knows the clarification of the truth of the facts of the conflict.
