At the door of the Sergio Arboleda University, next to the car partially destroyed by the bullets that blinded his life

“At the door of Sergio Arboleda University, next to the car partially destroyed by the bullets that blinded his life, seeing his blood staining the back seat, I cried. I cried for Álvaro. I mourned my elders and past episodes of my life. I cried for an upright man, a historic man, a spirit. By the time of the tragic event, I had already served eleven years working in peace processes. Looking for peace, “Leyva said this Monday.

In the communiqué, Londoño acknowledges that the FARC are the only ones responsible for the “excecrable fact of having deprived Gómez Hurtado of his life” and assures Leyva Durán that after reading his words, he was able to understand “the size of his loyalty to him. leader assassinated, as well as the suffering caused to people like you, to the family of the great politician and to much of the national country.

Then he reiterates that few like him have “the conservative spirit, that sense of rectitude and honor.”

Londoño also makes a tour of what was his entry into the FARC and returns to the moment in which he says, “the leadership of the Farc made the decision to carry out the crime, when doctor Gómez Hurtado was a completely different man from decades ago. “

“Like you, although with the difference that we were one of the opposing sides, we also sought and fought for peace for many years. And we did so in arms, because surely the circumstances of the country imposed it like that,” it is justified.

But, he argues: “We signed the Havana Accords to leave all that behind and enable a new destiny for Colombia.”
