Primoz Roglic, Slovenian cyclist of the Jumbo-Visma team, has been crowned winner of the 106th edition of the classic Liege-Bastoa-Liège, test of the Ardennes triptych held on a route of 257 kilometers in an exceptional manner this Sunday due to the Covid-19.
After 6 hours, 32 minutes and 2 seconds on the bike, Roglic prevailed in the arrival in Liège ahead of Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step), who you passed in the last meter while the French already celebrated the victory. The third place went to the Swiss Marc Hirschi (Sunweb), who continues to show that he is in great form.
Alaphilippe, however, ended up losing second place as he was relegated to fifth place by an irregular sprint maneuver.
Thus, the podium was formed by Roglic -first-, Hirschi -second- and the also Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates).
Roglic succeeded the dans Jakob Fuglsang, winner of the last edition, in the palmars of the Belgian classic.
