The Ministry of Health confirmed this Saturday eight new deaths in Colombia from the new coronavirus. With this update, the number of deaths in the country amounts to 233.
In addition, the report indicates that the contagion cases broke the 5,000 barrier. Of 3,068 tests processed in the last 24 hours, 261 tested positive, so there are already 5,142 patients in the country.
Geographically, the new cases are distributed in the following cities and departments: Bogotá (89), Risaralda (32), Meta (24), Amazonas (23), Valle (19), Atlántico (15), Nariño (13), Cesar (11), Barranquilla (7), Cundinamarca (7), Cartagena (6), La Guajira (3), Santa Marta (3), Antioquia (2), Huila (2), Magdalena (2), Santander (1) , Tolima (1) and Córdoba (1).
Globally, there are already 2,744,744 people infected with covid-19. The number of those recovered amounts to 813,033.

In Colombia, the city with the most cases is Bogotá, where, according to the most recent information, there are 2,152 patients with covid-19. As for departments, one of the most affected is Valle del Cauca, which reached 816 cases this Saturday.
According to the Minsalud, the deceased had the following characteristics:
– 85-year-old man in Valledupar. Comorbidities: chronic kidney disease.
– 78 year old man in Bogotá. Comorbidities: Epoc, heart disease.
– 79-year-old man in Leticia. Comorbidities: Epoc, Ischemic heart disease, smoking.
– 80-year-old man in San Francisco (Antioquia). Comorbidities: Epoc, HTA.
– 91-year-old woman in Bogotá. Comorbidities: HTA.
– 46-year-old man in Bogotá. Comorbidities: Obesity
– 66-year-old man in Cali. Comorbidities: Diabetes, HT, kidney failure.
– 82-year-old woman in Rio de Oro (Cesar). Comorbidities: Asthma, HT, hypertensive heart disease.
