Senator Iván Cepeda, from the Polo Democrático, confirmed that this Tuesday he sent a communication to the Prosecutor’s Office of the International Criminal Court, reporting events that link Police units with human rights violations in recent years.

The letter was sent by congressmen, councilors and human rights organizations. “We will send a communication to the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court denouncing the crimes against humanity perpetrated by Police units and the contempt for justice of the President and the Minister of Defense,” Cepeda said, referring to the recent Supreme Court ruling of Justice on social protest.

The Polo senator explained that in recent years, 57 murders, 20 acts of torture, 1,923 illegal detentions and five acts of sexual violence have been registered that link the Public Force.
