Navy seized three tons of marijuana in the Pacific

The controls at sea carried out by the Colombian Navy Units through the Pacific Naval Force, allowed the seizure of about three tons of marijuana, which would be destined for Central America, in the development of two operations, in Valle de Cauca.

The first blow occurred in the general area of ​​Punta Ají, Valle del Cauca, when Units from the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station detected a “GO FAST” type vessel moving at high speeds and ignoring calls made by the crew members of the Colombian Navy.

After several minutes of chasing, the motor ship manned by a Colombian and five Costa Ricans was detained. Inside they had sacks with pressed and packed rectangular packages.

The bags, the boat and the subjects were transferred to the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station Dock. There, CTI members performed the approved preliminary identification test (PIPH), testing positive for 1,326 kilograms of marijuana.

Likewise, they detected another boat manned by two Costa Ricans and a Colombian.

During the interdiction, the subjects threw the packages into the water. At the time of verification, the crew found 49 packages with 2,284 rectangular packages, which tested positive for 1,142 kilograms of marijuana and 150 packages with 150 kilograms of cocaine.

With this new blow to drug trafficking estimated at more than 12 million dollars, the Pacific Naval Force exceeds 33 tons of marijuana seized so far in 2020.
