President Iván Duque invited (virtually) the former president of Uruguay José ‘Pepe’ Mujica, the president of Spain Felipe González and a representative of the European Union, and there he presented the video where an Afro social leader, Yarlin Mosquera – victim of the conflict, he talks about subsidies he received from the government.
However, according to Noticias Uno, some of the leader’s companions, who today teaches dance at a school in Soacha, questioned her for having given that testimony when, they say, they have not received support from the Duque administration.
Mosquera was surprised and when she looked for the video she realized that the recording presented by the head of state was from a testimony she gave 3 years ago, when she obtained benefits from the government of Juan Manuel Santos, she told the news.
“I don’t know why at the moment they are showing a video that is part of our privacy as a school, and they are promoting that they gave us resources when it is not,” said Mosquera.
The interviewee was emphatic in saying that no one from the current national administration has contacted her, not even to find out if she needs anything.
Another victim of the conflict, from the same community, spoke in the same vein, adding that many things that have been promised have not been fulfilled.
In this case, Mosquera asked the president to recant for using his video, and said that she felt “used and cheated”.
