Three young people who were at this site, the brothers Jorge and Faryd Carrascal, aged 19 and 23, and their brother-in-law Javier Moreno, 25, were murdered in cold blood.
EL TIEMPO spoke with Rosa María Veleño, mother of Jorge and Faryd, and mother-in-law of Javier, and who still cannot explain why they killed her children, with whom she was going to go to the Magdalena department.
He said that he left San Sebastián de Buenavista, a municipality in Magdalena, in 2007, fleeing the violence. However, due to the pandemic, the economic situation was complicated and he made the decision to leave Soacha and seek other opportunities.

“I was going to go with them near El Banco, Magdalena, because in our land they did not open the doors for me because as we came from a city full of coronavirus, they said no, and they closed the doors to us,” said the woman .
The trip was planned for Saturday, September 19, but due to lack of money they postponed it 8 days, to the 26th.
However, Faryd and Jorge did not make it to that day. The night they were murdered, Rosa María went to her children, but had to return. “That week I had gone to my house to organize the trip, and that day I kept my cell phone and I had to return, if I had been there, I would have given my life for my children,” laments the woman.
Colonel Javier Aya, deputy commander of the Cundinamarca Police, explained that the investigations to clarify this triple homicide have already begun.
“The investigation of the department’s judicial police is being carried out to find these people, who entered this house and wounded three young people with a firearm, who died. The hypothesis raised so far is that they are micro-trafficking problems in the sector, cameras are being verified and testimonies are gathered that will allow us to capture these people, ”said the officer.

Rosa María and neighbors of the murdered youths strongly denied that they were related to any type of illicit activity.
“My children, for a mother, it was the best thing I had. They helped the community a lot, their friends, the reason why they took their lives I don’t know. The truth is I don’t know, only God will know, and I hope he does justice. But I also want justice from here on Earth, that this does not go unpunished, it took three lives, ”this woman said through tears.
Juan Carlos Saldarriaga, mayor of Soacha, regretted this fact. “These criminal groups take advantage of our young people due to the lack of opportunities and the need they have to involve them in this drug sale, which has led to the fact that every day we are capturing young people who are dedicated to this,” he said.
It will be the authorities and the investigation of the Sijín of the Police that determine the reason why these three people were murdered, leaving four children without parents.
