The panel “The importance of the BPO sector and bilingualism in the reactivation of the economy” will also be held, in which representatives of Invest in Bogota, the Colombian Association of BPO and the Centro Colombo Americano will participate.
“Through this type of initiative we want to connect the supply and the demand for bilingual staff in the city at a time when the generation of new jobs is essential to overcome the current situation ”, highlighted the executive director of Invest in Bogota, Juan Gabriel Pérez, who also recalled that, even in the midst of the pandemic, the services outsourcing sector has continued to grow in Bogotá at an estimated rate of 25% so far this year.

In addition, on the Invest in Bogota website there will be a permanent space with vacancies so that interested parties have direct access to the calls.
It is estimated that, at the end of 2021, Colombia will have approximately 318,000 contact center agents. Under this projection, the percentage of bilingual agents in Colombia is expected to increase from 16% to 20%, which would imply about 19,000 new vacancies for bilinguals at the end of 2021.
If Bogotá maintains a concentration of close to 89% of bilingual agents, the number that the market would demand could amount to more than 15,000 new people.
More virtual wheels are coming for other profiles
Likewise, as part of its strategy to support the economic recovery of the city, Invest in Bogota will carry out other virtual employment rounds so that companies and qualified human talent available in the city and the country can connect.
The second meeting will be at the end of October and will focus on vacancies for the technology sector, while the November job round will have a multi-sector emphasis (engineering, retail, processed foods and service centerss, among others).
