Larragaña’s statements, like those of other witnesses who witnessed the tragic event, will be added to the elements that the researchers will take into account to clarify what happened this Thursday morning on a road in Cauca.
Larragaña and Juliana Giraldo were going, along with some friends who were with them in the back of the vehicle, to buy some spare parts. “On the way, I saw uniformed men, armed men, but the truth is I couldn’t know if these were groups outside the law or if that was the Army. or there was a checkpoint, because at no time were there any signs: there were no cones, there were no speed bumps, there were no paddles. There was no information that said ‘checkpoint’ ”, lamented Larragaña in his story to Caracol Radio.

Hearing the shots, Larragaña assures that he stopped the car. “When I turned to look like this towards the passenger side, my wife was with her head blown. I was already dead ”.

Larrañaga also said that after the fact, Army commanders approached him and apologized. “They tried to fix things. They came to show their faces. They took him away from the crime scene, ”but he stressed that the weapon with which the soldier killed his wife was seized.
“We are working people. We have nothing to hide from the Army, much less why flee from them. Nor did we have to be the target of them, ”stressed Larragaña.
In another of the sections of the interview, Larragaña’s statements provoke deep reflections. “I would have preferred not to wake up today. I feel a great pain in my heart. They have taken my soul. That person was my life, my happiness. I really am very traumatized. I don’t know what will become of me. I don’t know how I’m going to get over this. It is an outrage. It is an abuse. That is a violation of human rights ”.
