He hired her on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to help him sort the recycling material and paid her between 30,000 and 40,000 pesos. Also, at times, he would allow her to take some things that she could use at home. However, all this changed on August 18.

A few days later, the young woman’s family filed a complaint for the disappearance of Lizbeth and her one-year-old daughter. Immediately, investigators from the Bogotá Metropolitan Police began to investigate.

The husband told the detectives that his partner had gone to Rubén’s residence that day, so the first thing they did was go look for him. He told them that Lizbeth had never come, that he didn’t know anything about her.

“We go back to Suba, to the last point it was seen and we search security cameras. A taxi that the victim took has been identified, ”said one of the investigators in this case.

The taxi driver made the tour with the uniformed men and arrived at Rubén’s residence. There he rebuked him, told him that he had taken Lizbeth to his house and that he had paid for the race with two 5,000 peso bills.

Once he murdered her, Rubén took her body to the Garcés Navas neighborhood, a half-hour walk from her home. At that point he decided to throw the woman into a sewer located at 104 Carrera 65C Street.

Then he took the girl, put her in a car, took her to the La Toscana neighborhood, and left her near the house where days ago he had gone to take the dining room. The uniformed men followed security cameras in Tuscany and managed to identify the criminal taking the baby near his home.

Policeman

Bibiana Araque, the girl’s sister, said that they arrived in the country three years ago and that now she is fighting for justice and for the body to be handed over to her, which was found by the authorities on September 8.

“Apart from the baby, he left a 5-year-old boy in Venezuela. It wasn’t fair that he died the way he did. What we ask is that justice be done. Nobody deserves to die that way, and she was a woman of her house, dedicated to her home, to her husband. We are all proud of the woman she was, ”Bibiana said.

One of the policemen who investigated this incident stated that two families have come to report this man. They accuse him of the murder of a minor under 14 years of age in 2010 and the murder of another in 2009.

At the hearing, in which he acknowledged the murder of Lizbeth, Rubén denied having participated in the other events in which he was involved. Finally, this man, who is already behind bars, will have to answer for the crime of forced disappearance.
