In the audio, contrary to what Claudia López said, the guerrilla confirms that members of the ELN participated in the riots that broke out in Bogotá between September 10 and 11, when protests were called to reject the death of Javier Ordóñez.
“Our urban militancy participates in them [manifestaciones] as one or one more. It is the growing indignation, the repudiation of oppression and the need for justice and to shake off the yoke, which has led thousands of people to the streets in open rebellion, ”said ‘Uriel’ in the audio.
This overturns the theory of the mayor of Bogotá, who said that the Government spoke of infiltrators of the Eln to “distract attention” from the injuries suffered by civilians, according to her, by the Police.
López claimed that there was no evidence that the guerrilla group encouraged vandalism in the protests. However, the government disputed saying that the insurgents left traces of their infiltration in the marches.
