“It was out of envy or because of something sentimental”: Madeleine Montes’ ex-partner

For Carlos Bello Jiménez, the murder of the mother of his children is something “very strange”. Since his youngest son knocked on the door of his room shouting that something had happened to Madeleine Montes Castillo, the man began to weigh all the reasons why they could have made an attempt on his life.

“There are people who are saying that it was extortion, but if they had threatened her she tells us. It was not robbery either because she was left with the money in her hand. She had no problems. That was out of envy or some sentimental issue. Right now anyone kills for $ 100,000. One’s life is worth nothing“Bello Jiménez thought aloud.

As the man explained to EL HERALDO, the success of his ex-partner and partner in the Black & White stables may have been a trigger for the attack. In fact, he recalled that at the time of the murder Madeleine was on the premises trying to explain to an employee how she wanted the sign painted.

“She was sitting here with the girl she lives with, when the guy came to kill her. About two meters away she shoots. A shot in the head, another in the chest and more, ”the man pointed out, indicating that the shots were fired at such close range that bullet holes were left in the wall of the restaurant’s facade.

Likewise, he assured that the theory that the homicide corresponds to a personal matter is just a vague hypothesis, since he and his children do not really know why the crime occurred.

“We are gringos with that. If it had been a threat, she tells us. If it was extortion, she tells us. We are united, but she never said anything. We are thinking that it is like envy, because it seems a lie, but people speak and two or three can get together to say ‘let’s get that old woman out of the way’”, Affirmed Bello Jiménez.

On the other hand, he said that I was not aware that Madeleine Montes was currently being extorted, but that around five years ago he had received extortion calls.

Back then, he said, the extortion payments were not made, but they immediately contacted the Police to follow up on the calls, which they identified as coming from Valledupar and there was a capture at the time.
