The Cartagena District Comptroller’s Office put the magnifying glass on the salary of Cynthia Pérez Amador, the first lady of the city, after the complaint of an alleged loss of assets of 33 million 600 thousand pesos.
According to this entity, Pérez Amador does not hold the titles or the experience to earn a salary of 7 million pesos a month. A citizen overseer alerted about the alleged irregularity.
Freddy Quintero, Cartagena’s district comptroller, spoke about what the first lady’s salary should be, according to the resolutions.
“The lady, according to a resolution issued by the district of Cartagena and according to academic requirements, would only be entitled to fees of 2 million 200 thousand pesos and at this moment they are paying her, through a highly trusted contract, a salary that it reaches 7 million, ”Quintero explained.
The comptroller stated that the first lady does not have a label that makes her the recipient of a salary of that magnitude: “The woman does not have the quality of a scientist, musician or artist to apply for a high-trust contract, which generates that type of fee. ”.
According to the complaint by Wilmer Sánchez, overseer, the first lady’s contract generated an alleged loss of assets of more than 33 million pesos.
William Dau, mayor of Cartagena and husband of Cynthia Pérez Amador, explained why his spouse has fees of this nature.
“He is a very valuable person. Regardless of the fact that she does not have the titles that a high value OPS requires for a contract, she more than meets the requirements to have a highly trustworthy contract, ”said the president.
Although the Noticias Caracol journalistic team tried to contact the first lady, she refused to comment on the recommendation of her lawyer.
The Comptroller’s Office investigates Cynthia Pérez Amador for the crimes of alleged ideological and material falsification in a private document, ideological falsification in a public document and procedural fraud to obtain a state contract.
