Coronavirus in Colombia: deaths and infections September 23, 2020 – Health

This Wednesday the Ministry of Health delivered a new report on the situation of the coronavirus in Colombia. The report confirms 6,731 new infections after processing 38,422 tests. With this figure, the country reaches a total of 784,268 cases.

Also, the health authority confirmed 176 new deaths. Of this number, 165 belong to previous days. The total number of deaths from covid-19 increases, then, to 24,746.

As for the recovered patients, they are already 662,277 Colombians who have managed to overcome the coronavirus. On the other hand, active confirmed cases are already less than 100,000, the current figure reported by the health authority is 95. 607.

Within the cities and departments with the most registered cases, Bogotá continues to lead the list with 1,560 cases reported in the last hours. In second place is Antioquia with 1,221; then there is the Valley with 540 and in fourth place is Santander with 436 new infections.

Amazonas, Chocó, Vichada, Cartagena and Putumayo are among the places in the country with the lowest cases registered in the last 24 hours.

Worldwide, 31,658,573 people have been infected with coronavirus and 971,896 have lost their lives due to covid-19. On the other hand, the number of recovered in the world amounts to 21,798,488.
