At this time the stoppage of the transporters of Bucaramanga and the area continues.

However, according to information provided by one of the participants in the strike, advisers to the Bucaramanga mayor’s office and leaders of the transport union agreed to meet with the metropolitan board.

“If there is any good news, we hope to lift the strike,” they said.

In the morning hours, the road to the North of Bucaramanga registered partial blockages while a Plan Tortuga collapsed the road that connects Girón with Bucaramanga, reaching the Puente El Bueno.

Another group of transporters, made up of more than 50 vehicles, in a caravan, left after 7:40 in the morning from Floridablanca to Cabecera also to protest the lack of clear measures to combat informal transport.

At 8:30 in the morning, said group arrived with Plan Tortuga in Zapamanga, near the Fátima Interchange in Floridablanca.

After 9:30 in the morning, the caravan reached the La Flora Viaduct and headed towards the headwaters.

It is expected that, as the hours go by, the transporters will take other routes in the area.

With this day of protest, drivers are demanding more controls and better plans to combat piracy.

At 10:00 in the morning the protesters arrived at Parque San Pío where they made a new sit-in that caused trauma to the mobility of the sector.

After this stop, the caravan continued its route with Carrera 33 to go down the entire street 36. At this time, the mobilization reaches the vicinity of Santander Park.

The march arrived at the García Rovira Park where they held a new sit-in in front of the Bucaramanga Mayor’s Office. In this place, they ask for a meeting with Mayor Juan Carlos Cárdenas as they assure that the president has not met with them and has not helped them resolve the requests that said union has been requesting since the beginning of the year.

As the caravan advanced along the Bucaramanga roads, the union of conventional transporters was joined by members of special transport.

This sector has reduced insurance policies and taxes due to the cessation of activities due to the pandemic, since most of the special transports mobilize students.

Metrolinea reported that several of its routes have had to take detours due to seedlings on certain roads in Bucaramanga and the area. However, it has not canceled any of its routes but they have reported delays.
