The President of the Republic, Iván Duque Márquez, announced that the Government will subsidize 50% of the December premium to those workers who earn up to a minimum monthly wage in force in companies that have lost, at least, 20% of their turnover due to the pandemic.
“We have made a decision: the national government and the rapporteurs in Congress, as we did in June, in December we can subsidize 50% of the December premium for those workers who earn up to one million pesos in those companies that have their billing has been affected by 20% or more ”, said the president.
The president added that the government had planned for the Formal Employment Support Program (Paef) to end in September, however, due to the current situation in the country, the decision was made to expand it.
In this way, it is sought that through the Congress of the Republic, companies that have decreased their turnover, at least by 20%, continue to receive a subsidy of 40% of the legal minimum wage in force for workers until March 2021 and not until December, as advertised.
Likewise, the Income Solidario program will be extended until June next year.
