The Superintendency of Companies ordered the liquidation of the firm CAP Technologies S.A.S, company that owns the popular motorcycle taxi app Picap.
According to a document known to EL TIEMPO, after this order, the firm will not be able to carry out any activity in Colombia and a third-party liquidator will sell the properties to settle its debts.
For months, Picap has been a source of controversy amid the transport-by-applications debates.

In addition to a lawsuit by the Government in which it accused the application of putting users at risk, at the end of last year, The Transportation Superintendency had requested the liquidation of the signature through Resolution 15457 of December 20, 2019.
In the text of the order with the order, it was learned that said resolution was confirmed in March of this year, with which the measure of submission to control was finalized and the process of judicial liquidation of the company CAP Technologies was called.
The text reads: “During the administrative investigation, the Superintendency of Transport was able to show that the main activity carried out by CAP Technologies is openly illegal. ”
The argument is that there is a legal prohibition on transporting passengers in motorcycle-type vehicles, “with which seriously compromises the guiding principles of transport, among which are safety, quality and free access. “
As of the issuance of this order, administrators, former administrators, associates and controllers are unable to carry out operations in development of their commercial activity.
The document of Supersociedades warns that “As of the issuance of this order, administrators, ex-administrators, associates and controllers are unable to carry out operations in the course of their commercial activity” and that “acts carried out in contravention of the foregoing, will be ineffective in their entirety straight”.

The document also notified who will be the third liquidator to Cesar Laureano Negret Mosquera and that the process “begins with a reported asset of
$ 162,158,603, amount that will actually be determined at the time the
valued inventory of goods by the judge of the process, in the procedural stage
correspondent”.
At the moment, Picap has not spoken on the announcement.
