Contradiction of Claudia López and Government due to riots

In the forum on the public order situation held in the Bogotá Council, Claudia López insisted that the violence of the protests last week was due to the discomfort of the citizens and not because illegal groups were behind it.

“In Bogotá there was no guerrilla takeover. In Bogotá there was a day of violence and violent protests due to repeated police abuse and the systematic impunity of these events, ”said the mayor.

But the Vice Minister of the Interior, Daniel Palacio, who also participated in the forum, insisted that there were criminal structures behind the riots in the city, and warned that those acts could happen again.

Here is a premeditated action, organized by some urban collectives. And they are not going to stop, that has to be clear. And Bogotá has to prepare because it is not the first and it is not the last, ”said Palacio.

López and the government had already had a clash over the issue of infiltrators in demonstrations in the capital.

Before participating in the Council forum, the mayor assured that the National administration accused the ELN “to distract attention” from the damage suffered by civilians in the protests last week.

The peace commissioner, Miguel Ceballos, responded and said that the guerrilla group itself has left evidence that it infiltrated the protests, which in principle had the purpose of rejecting the death of Javier Ordóñez, a victim of excesses by two policemen.

For these infiltrations that the Government is talking about, there is already an investigation in which social media groups have been detected by which vandals organize to destabilize the city.

In addition, a document was released that would prove that the ELN planned the “tropeles” in Bogotá last week.
