For its part, the newspaper Hoy del Magdalena added that the person captured is José Francisco Álvarez Rodríguez, and that in 2018 he was arrested for illegally carrying weapons. At that time, he said, the National Police reported that ‘el Tarra’ was “dedicated to lending firearms” to carry out robberies and homicides.
Álvarez Rodríguez, according to the newspaper, is under police surveillance in a hospital where he is recovering from his injuries, and Colonel Solarte affirmed that he will be prosecuted for crimes of attempted homicide against a police officer, illegal possession of weapons and personal injury.
