This Thursday, Atlético Junior beat Barcelona de Guayaquil 1-2 in the match for the third date of the Copa Libertadores group stage.
With only seven minutes after the opening whistle, there was a foul on the edge of the area in favor of Junior. Sebastián Viera arrived there to hit the ball with conviction and thus celebrate the 0-1.
Junior continued with great impetus on the field of play and showed gallantry to fight the match in Ecuadorian territory. He handled the ball to his liking and minimized his rival until minute 25 of the game.
Barcelona did not have much football, but a quick play reached Viera’s premises and Colman scored the equalizer with a nice definition.
The outlook became more difficult for Junior because Teofilo Gutiérrez had to leave the playing field due to a muscular discomfort. His place was taken by Daniel Moreno, but there was no further action until the end of the first half.
Starting the complementary part, Barcelona was the owner of the ball, but did not create goal actions that would unbalance the game in their favor. Junior also did not find precision and the game fell into a pothole.
It was at minute 70 that there was a new offensive connection in which Fredy Hinestroza sent a good cross that Miguel Borla hit with his head and celebrated the 1-2.
Junior defended himself with all his arsenal and also handled the ball to his liking to be able to stay with the victory and thus win his first game in this Copa Libertadores.
With this marker, the Barranquilleros rise to the third box of their group in the Copa Libertadores and are behind Flamengo (6 points) and Independiente del Valle (9 points).
