Álvaro Uribe Case | Wednesday, September 16, his freedom is decided – Investigation – Justice

[ad_1]

The defense of former president Álvaro Uribe Vélez has already requested his release, for which a hearing was already scheduled for next Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in which a judge will have to decide whether the former senator investigated for crimes of bribery of witnesses and procedural fraud will continue his free process or with the assurance measure imposed by the Supreme Court of Justice.

At the hearing, Uribe’s lawyers will have to argue why they consider that the former president, whose process passed from the Supreme Court of Justice to the Attorney General’s Office after resigning his seat as senator of the Democratic Center, can continue the process at liberty.

Likewise, The Prosecutor’s Office will have to present its position on whether it considers that the security measure should be maintained or not. At the head of the case is the prosecutor Gabriel Ramón Jaimes Durán, who had been challenged by Senator Iván Cepeda, who is a civil party in the process. However, this challenge was unsuccessful.

Uribe has a home insurance measure that he complies with at the El Ubérrimo farm, which he owns, in the department of Córdoba, by order of the Supreme Court of Justice, since the investigation chamber of this high court considered that the former president could affect the process development.
