The attorney also asks the head of the Defense portfolio what were the instructions given from the high command for the management and control of the disturbances.

“The investigations are going very quickly”
Defense Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo spoke in RCN News about the progress of the investigations into shooting during the riots in Bogotá, the reform of the Police and the infiltrations in the citizen protests
How are the investigations going into the shots fired during the days of the protest?
Investigations that are the responsibility of the Police are underway very quickly in all aspects. The investigation is being advanced in order to determine the number of police officers who used firearms and the number of cartridges used and the circumstances in which such things occurred in order to make it known to the public opinion and of course bring it to the attention of the authorities to serve as an element of judgment. What has to do with individual responsibilities that will of course correspond to the disciplinary and criminal authorities.
Yesterday the mayor said that the president ruled out any reform to the Police, is that so or does the Government accept any modification to the way the Police work today?
No way, that is not true. The process of modernization and strengthening of the Police has been anticipating the President for a long time. It is part of the security and coexistence policy, it is also a process based on the legality of human rights, closeness and permanent dialogue with citizens, improvement of selection processes, improvement of internal control processes and other aspects. So that is what has to do with the modernization of the institution is a process that is underway. Of course the president is open to hearing proposals and discussing options that are presented to him.
Who are behind the groups interested only in vandalism and infiltrating the protests?
In what we have lived, there is a pattern of organized and systematic behavior of groups that only want to destroy, how does the public know and of course there is infiltration. The infiltration of the Eln, the known dissidents of the Farc and there is infiltration of what is known as neighborhood collectives. There are anarchists there, what they want is to destroy and not build anything
