The 30-year-old Colombian cyclist Nairo Alexander Quintana did not have the best day this Friday, September 11, on stage 13 of the Tour de France since he suffered a fall that affected his body considerably and that made him lose time when crossing the finish line since he is currently fifth in the general classification one minute and 13 seconds behind the leader, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic.

Nairo presented some bruises on his knees and both elbows, blows that were evidenced at the end of the fraction by the bleeding that emanated and that was later confirmed in a medical part of his team, Arkéa-Samsic.

However, the Boyacá rider assured that he is still alive in the Tour de France and despite the pain and lost time he will continue fighting.

“We are still alive in this Tour de France, it is true that today we gave up a little time due to the fall we have had. It has been a really difficult fall, hard, with a lot of pain, but the legs are still good and we will continue fighting to get better every day, “he said.

Quintana commented that the team’s team has been good and is looking forward to having better days and finding the right moment to make up time.

“We continue in the fight. The team’s work has been good, we wait for better days and find the right moment to recover time, for a fall like today was not the clearly indicated stage but it has touched and is like that,” he said.

Finally, Nairo said that he hopes to be recovered for the day of this Saturday and mainly for the stage on Sunday when the ascent to the Grand Colombier is given.

“We hope to be recovered for tomorrow and in the Gran Colombier stage we have no problems and we are with the best, little by little the group is being selected and we continue to hold on despite the falls,” he said.
