Nairo Quintana suffered his third crash on stage 13 during the Tour de France. This was the one that brought the most negative consequences for his body, taking into account that on the first day he did not leave him discomfort and that of the tenth stage only ended in a strong blow to the tail.

The Arkea team confirmed that the Boyacense ended the day with bruises on both knees and both elbows. In any case, this situation did not prevent Nairo from finishing the stage competing until the last kilometer with his rivals for the podium of the race.

The Boyacense lost 40 seconds with the Slovenians Primoz Roglic and Tadej Pogacar, but managed to stay in fifth place in the general classification, one minute and 12 seconds behind the leader.

Nairo was able to finish much better than Frenchman Romain Bardet, who fell next to him with about 90 kilometers to go and he lost about more than two minutes with the best.

Quintana will have to take good care of himself on Saturday’s stage and pray so that his ailments are left behind for Sunday’s, one of the most important days of the entire Tour de France for its high finish at the Grand Colombier and its passage through two other high-demand mountain passes.
