América de Cali defeated Atlético Junior on Tuesday 1-2, in the first match of the 2020 Super League, in a match played at the Romelio Martínez stadium in Barranquilla. A match that marks the return of Colombian soccer after being detained by the pandemic, but that left many doubts about the way in which Dimayor approached the game.

The main annoyance was that for this final – the second leg will be played on Friday, September 11 – the VAR will not be implemented, as a necessary technological tool for any arbitration doubt, which may well change the fate of a match and could be decisive to settle the champion.

And yes, VAR was needed, because at minute 80, with Junior up 1-0 on the scoreboard, America reached the tie with an own goal, in a play in which Adrián Ramos, scarlet attacker, participates directly and goes in search of the ball.

According to replay images, Ramos would have been slightly ahead, almost that it is his right knee that takes advantage, but the position was not seen by the referees of the match; something that the camera did capture and would have, perhaps, annulled the play.
