Two new massacres are reported this Monday in Colombia

A new act of violence shook the Bajo Cauca subregion of Antioquia, after the incursion of an armed group on Monday afternoon.

According to preliminary information, the attack took place in the La Valentina village, in the El Pato district, located approximately one hour’s walk from the urban area of ​​the Zaragoza municipality.

There they would have shot between five and six people; the exact number of victims has not been confirmed by either the police or the army, whose uniformed men are moving to the area at this time.

Yesid Zapata, a member of the Corporación Jurídica Libertad, reported that the victims would be miners and the owner of a pool table in the area. “We have insisted to the Government of Antioquia and to the Presidency of the Republic that there be guarantees for the communities of these territories; but the absence of the State and the institutional gaps continue to allow these events to occur in the department, ”he asserted.

Last week there were two other crimes that caused anxiety among the population of Bajo Cauca: on September 2, there was a massive forced displacement in Cáceres, due to the pressure of criminals from the Gulf Clan, which forced the departure of 750 people from the Isla Amargura trail.

And the following day an armed group attacked a police truck, killing two soldiers on a road in Caucasia.

They murder three people in Simití

In the midst of the pandemic, violent events continue in the country. The most recent is the murder of 3 people in the town of Monterrey, rural area of ​​Simití, Bolivar.

The motives for the crime are the subject of investigation by the Magdalena Medio authorities, who so far have identified 2 Colombian citizens and 1 Venezuelan among the victims.

“Until now, the Magdalena Medio police, the Selva 48 battalion, and the Marte Task Force are present in the area, lifting the bodies and developing the first hypotheses to clarify these events. As the government of Bolívar we regret this act of violence, we regret this situation, we are with the mayor with whom we have already communicated and is also present in the area. said the Secretary of the Interior, Carlos Feliz Monsalve.

Faced with the facts, the Governor of Bolívar, Vicente Antonio Blel Scaff, immediately reiterated the call to the National Government to hold the Council with the country’s military leadership in the area, which allows reviewing the security situation in the south of the Department and deliver responses to the community with clear and forceful actions.
