Five people were killed in Zaragoza

At least five people were killed on Monday in rural Zaragoza, Antioquia, by heavily armed men, human rights organizations and national media reported.

The massacre occurred in the village of La Valentina, according to the NGO Corporación Jurídica Libertad on Twitter. “One of the people was admitted to the hospital and four bodies were left lying in the place,” added the trill.

According to the first reports, the violent act occurred in a pool hall in the area, where the armed men arrived and opened fire on those present.

General Juan Carlos Ramírez, commander of the Army’s Seventh Division, indicated that units from this institution and uniformed members of the National Police are traveling to the site.

Up to now, more information on the alleged perpetrators or the victims is unknown. First hypotheses would point to the fact that the Clan del Golfo was behind the massacre and that those killed were miners from the area.
