Although the Democratic Center is a government party for national issues, in Bogotá the party has been characterized by staunch opposition to the mayor of the capital, Claudia López.
The Democratic Center is officially an opposition party in the Bogotá council and the congressmen of the uribismo bench does not miss an opportunity to criticize the district president.
One of those who has spoken the most against the mayor is the representative Edward Rodríguez, who this Monday again had a new pulse with López, this time on account of some trills in which the local president criticizes the government of Iván Duque.

López assured that from the National Government “they unleash stigmatization and discredit campaigns to anyone who dares to disagree with them.”
The mayor’s pronouncement did not go down well in the Democratic Center, from where they came out to accuse López of stigmatizing.
This pulse has been accentuated in recent weeks in the country.

It cannot be forgotten that a while ago the congressmen Rodríguez criticized the mayor’s decision to close an entire town like Kennedy, a decision that he described as “a joke.”
Another of those who has criticized the mayor has been Congressman Gabriel Santos, who stated in an interview with EL TIEMPO that “the mayor of Bogotá has been incredibly stubborn and monothematic in presenting solutions that could have helped us mitigate the consequences.”
