A commission of the CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office was attacked in the area known as Minas Blancas, in San Vicente del Caguán, after they raised the body of a man who had been murdered in the area.
For several minutes they resisted the harassment and then received support from the Army, with which they managed to communicate in the middle of the fire.
Two of the investigators were injured and one of them was taken to the San Rafael Hospital for soft tissue trauma, medical authorities reported.
One of the CTI officials who survived the attack thanked the Army “for the deployment they had to carry out to be able to get us out of the scene.”
“We were alone there, thanks to you they brought us here and thank God we are fine, thank you very much,” he said.
The authorities are investigating whether members of the FARC dissidents used the body as a decoy to attack the CTI investigators.
