The Tour de France again this Saturday in contact with the high mountain through the Pyrenees, with the first of the two stages that host this massif that, however, does not propose any high end.
The 141km Cazres-sur-Garonne and Loudenvielle offer hardly any flat terrain and are a constant up and down with two first-class passes and one out-of-class.
The road steepens from kilometer 48, with the ascent to Ment and its 6.9 kilometers with an average slope of 8.1%.
As soon as they finish their descent, they arrive at the Bals ramps, a special category with its 11.7 kilometers at 7.7% slope and, without continuity, the Peyresourde, another 9.7 kilometers ascent at 7.8%.
The goal of this last difficulty has its summit 11.5 kilometers from the finish line, which will be down to Loudenvielle.
Enough ground so that the favorites for the general start to move their pawns, knowing that the next day they will meet again with the high mountain.
Britain’s Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) defend the lead with 3 and 9 seconds ahead of Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) and French Guillaume Martin (Cofidis). Colombian Egan Bernal (Ineos) is fourth, 13 seconds behind the yellow jersey.
The squad will leave Cazres-sur-Garonne on time at 1:30 p.m. (CEST) and its arrival in Loudenvielle is scheduled for 5:14 p.m.
