Fall that Sergio Higuita avoided in Tour fans

Sergio Higuita was one of the Colombians who overcame the tough test that the Tour de France squad faced when fans were formed at the end of the seventh stage. The Education First team rider placed very well at that key moment and reached the finish line alongside all the favorites.

However, not everything was rosy for him. When the race was at its most tense, Higuita came close to falling from hitting his front wheel with the back of a rider in front of him. The Colombian national champion reacted skillfully, used the brakes well and emerged from that situation unscathed.

The young talent was heard screaming in the middle of the maneuver, nervous about a possible accident, but in the end, not a single second detached from the cyclists who were next to him in the peloton and he stood firm in the decisive moments of the day.

Higuita’s good performance on what has been the most important day of the Tour de France so far allowed him to climb to number 15 in the general classification, in which he is 41 seconds behind leader Adam Yates. 28 seconds separate the paisa from the ‘top’ 10 of the table.

Sergio suffered in stage 4, which had the only high finish so far. Tomorrow the Pyrenees arrive and it will be a key day for his aspirations in the general because he can’t give up any more ground with the favorites. Below, the video of the maneuver with which Higuita saved himself from falling on stage 7 of the Tour:
