The District Secretary for the Environment after carrying out a control and monitoring visit this Friday to the environmental permits of the Juan Amarillo wetland in Bogota, found that some of the works that are carried out in this place do not have environmental authorizations.
Faced with this, the entity decided to impose measures to suspend activities in some sections of the works.
“From the Secretariat of the Environment we carry out an environmental monitoring visit, in compliance with its functions as an environmental authority, where we review the works being carried out by the Bogotá Aqueduct Company in the Juan Amarillo wetland”, indicated the Secretary of Environment, Carolina Urrutia.

The environmental authority found that some of the points detected are outside the permits granted, and that they were not evidenced during the previous visit.
Additionally, it found that activities are still being carried out on the structures that are the object of investigation and found other spaces where new works are being carried out that presumably do not have environmental authorizations.
“As a result of that follow-up visit, preventive measures have been imposed to suspend works that are outside the permits that this environmental authority had granted”Urrutia added.

As a result of this verification, the Secretary of the Environment proceeded to suspend and impose stamps on the points. In this way, the Aqueduct and Sewerage Company of Bogotá will not be able to carry out activities in them..
