The Tour de France reconnects with the high mountains through the Pyrenees, with the first of the two stages that will host this massif, which, however, does not propose any high end.
The 141 km Cazéres-sur-Garonne and Loudenvielle offer hardly any flat terrain and are a constant up and down with two first-class ports and one off-class.
The road steepens from kilometer 48, with the ascent to Menté and its 6.9 kilometers at an average height of 8.1%.
As soon as they finish their descent, they arrive at the Balès ramps, a special category with its 11.7 kilometers at 7.7% slope and, without continuity, the Peyresourde, another 9.7 kilometer climb at 7.8%.
The goal of this last difficulty has its summit 11.5 kilometers from the finish line, which will be down to Loudenvielle.
Enough ground so that the favorites for the general start to move their pawns, knowing that the next day they will meet again with the high mountains.
This will be stage 8 of the Tour de France: Cazères-sur-Garonne – Loudenvielle, 141 kilometers
Montana:
Col de Menté (1st, 6.9 km at 8.1%), 81.5 from goal
Puerto de Balès (E, 11.7 km at 7.7%), 36.5 from the finish line
Col de Peyresourde (1st, 9.7 km at 7.8%), 11.5 from the finish line.
