This Thursday it was learned that on Wednesday night there was a meeting between former minister Juan Fernando Cristo, in his apartment, with former president Juan Manuel Santos, senator Iván Cepeda and Farc congressmen Pablo Catatumbo and Carlos Antonio Losada, as well as the head of that party, Rodrigo Londoño.
(In context: ‘It is not the first nor will it be the last meeting’: Juan Fernando Cristo)
This produced a controversy, as some sectors called this meeting “suspicious”.
Given this, Christ, who has been a staunch defender of peace, published a video on social networks in which he explained how that meeting had been.
“Last night we met with former president Santos, with senators from the Farc political party, with their president to talk about peace and especially about the need for the Farc to contribute with the truth,” he said.
The former minister added that they have already met in the past with the same members and that they will continue to do so to “continue fighting for peace in this country.”
(We suggest: ‘My priority is Uribe free, then time for campaigns will come’: Paloma Valencia)
Cristo also pointed out that he was surprised by the invasion of privacy and the attitudes of certain journalists and opinion-makers “of the Colombian extreme right, which shows the state of madness in which they are walking, which is very dangerous for the country.”
The video was published with a message that says: “Will we have to ask the extreme right now for permission to fight for peace in the country?”
He also published a trill with this message: “I am a very calm and unsuspecting citizen. But I want to confess that with the blatant invasion of my privacy and that of my family by some spokesmen of the extreme right, I am very concerned. Follow-ups? (sic) They are very crazy and very dangerous. Pure fascism. “

Given this, the senator of the Democratic Center María Fernanda Cabal replied to the video and wrote: “The favorite word of the narco-left is to call its adversaries” extreme right. “Here Samper’s adopted son tells us a joke.”

So far, Christ has not responded to this trine.
