Once again, the Metropolitan Police managed to impact an important criminal structure, dedicated to the theft of at least 200 motorcycles every month, as well as vehicles and armed robberies that affect the tranquility of Cali.

The result of this operation, together with the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, emerged after arduous intelligence work, monitoring and 28 raids that managed to dismantle several criminal organizations.

Among those captured are those responsible for the theft and assault on the renowned choreographer Luis Eduardo Henández, ‘El Mulato’, who in the last hours was the victim of an assault. Vehicles and motorcycles were also recovered and will be returned to their owners in the coming days.

“We have all the evidence, the product of serious and dedicated investigative work, which today allows us to continue showing these good results. In the Olimpo operation we verified that this gang can move a criminal economy of up to 800 million pesos a month and it is with the body of evidence that we can surround them, ”said General Manuél Vásquez, commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Security and Justice, Carlos Alberto Rojas, indicated that “we are in a frontal fight against crime, with intelligence work, monitoring and total support for the authorities, to continue reducing the rates of robberies and murders, as as it has been happening ”.

The official announced that in the next few days the city will receive 1,300 video cameras, managed by the Department for Social Prosperity, which will support surveillance and crime prevention efforts within the framework of the Comprehensive Citizen Security Plan.
