The plate of the Gato de Tejada, which would have been stolen several days ago, was recovered this Thursday by officials of the Secretariat of Peace and Social Welfare of Cali after receiving a citizen alert.
“At 3:00 pm I receive a call from a young man. He tells me, look at my business, this plaque arrived, but I know that this is part of the cultural heritage of the city. I am going to buy it and I give it to you. send it to the mayor “, detailed Danis Renteria, who leads the office.
He affirms that he himself went to collect the piece and a certificate of delivery was made with which its illegal commercialization was avoided “because the plaque is made of bronze.” He also highlighted the decision of the citizen who acted with “awareness of culture.”
At the time the authorities did not confirm that it was a robbery, but the managers who are carrying out the restoration of the monument in the west of Cali, neighbors and vigilantes of the sector, assured that the object disappeared last Tuesday.
