New criticisms of Claudia López for financing Avianca – Bogotá

Mayor Claudia López made new criticisms of the decision of the National Government to give a loan of up to 370 million dollars to Avianca.

This time, the statement was made at a press conference on the preparation of the pilot ‘Bogotá under the open sky’, where the president resolved doubts from entrepreneurs in the gastronomic sector.

When he explained how the District would invest resources from the Local Development Fund for reopening pilots, he again referred to the issue, which has him confronted with the National Government.

“I would like to make a call to the country, 60% of Bogotá’s employment is not produced by any foreign company, it is produced by small and medium-sized Colombian entrepreneurs. It is them we have to finance“, assured López.

And he continued: “there is no logic in using Colombian taxes to finance foreign companies while our businesses still lose jobs and do not have credits or payroll subsidies. The day we have insured that no Colombian woman was left without subsidy, the day we insure that no merchant was left without support, think of the others there. But (the Avianca thing) is unacceptable, a total abuse“.

This, apparently, is the response to the pronouncement of Diego Molano, director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (Dapre), who told her yesterday, via Twitter: “Mayor, a country without airplanes is like a trail without mules. How to reactivate without tourists, exports and investment? Govt. Nal. supports 35 thousand MSMEs and 1.3 million workers Btá and you? “.
