The Attorney General’s Office announced on Tuesday the capture of two alleged perpetrators of the massacre of five people, perpetrated on August 21 in a rural area of the department of Arauca. Massacres in Colombia.
“In the operation carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Technical Investigation Body (CTI) they captured two people who would be responsible for coordinating this crime”, said the attorney general Francisco Barbosa, who traveled to Arauca with the president, Iván Duque.
The Prosecutor’s Office determined that the detainees, Dilia Elizabeth Achagua Maldonado, alias “Alejandra”, and Exequiel Loaiza Guzmán, alias “Urías”, maintained constant communication with heads of the so-called structure 10 of the FARC dissidents.
Without giving details, the prosecutor assured that alias ‘Alejandra’ planned from the Arauca Police station, where she was already detained, the murder of one of the victims of the massacre, supposedly because she gave information to the authorities so that she could be captured .
However, he did not explain why five were murdered in the massacre, perpetrated in the border village of El Caracol, nor why the victims were five if the target was only one of them.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the murdered were identified as Jhersson Gabriel Zapara Artahona, Carlos Eduardo Sandón Galindez, José Gregorio Figueira Blanco, Ángel Abel Briceño Araque, and Eduar Rafael Campos Zapata, but did not report whether they were of Venezuelan nationality, as indicated in the first versions of The authorities.
