This was confirmed to EL TIEMPO by criminal lawyer Jaime Granados, head of the former president’s defense team.

He only stated that the behaviors under investigation are not related to Uribe’s role as congressman. In addition, that these are ordinary crimes.
Senator Iván Cepeda, victim within the process for alleged bribery of witnesses and procedural fraud, has not ruled on the request for freedom.
But he has already announced that he will challenge the attorney general, Francisco Barbosa, and his deputy prosecutor, to appoint an ad hoc prosecutor for the case.
(In addition. Cepeda says that Uribe hired an agency to discredit the Court)
In addition, that President Iván Duque could not make up the shortlist to elect the ad hoc for having ruled on the case, in favor of Uribe.
In the event that he presents a challenge, it will not go through to Granados’ request.
