Tour de France 2020: Key stages for Colombians | Outside of Soccer

Colombians aspire to be great protagonists of the 2020 Tour de France and to achieve this they will seek to be the protagonists in different stages that in past years and due to their characteristics have already won.

Egan Bernal (Ineos), Rigoberto Urán (EF), Sergio Higuita (EF), Daniel Martínez (EF), Esteban Chaves (Mitchelton), Nairo Quintana (Arkea), Winner Anacona (Arkea), Dayer Quintana (Arkea), Miguel Ángel López (Astana) and Harold Tejada (Astana) are the Colombians who are in the Tour de France and some of them are the ones who have the option to win stages and even the Tour.

These are the stages that could benefit Colombians …

Stage 4 (September 1): it will be 160 kilometers between Sisteron and Orcieres Merlette, in which there will be four mountain passes. One will be fourth category, there will be three third and the final first.

Stage 8 (September 5): 130 kilometers between Cazeres sur Garanne to Loudenvielle. Also known as Los Pirineos, it will have three high mountain passes and one out of category. At the arrival there will also be a small slope at the end.

Stage 9 (September 6): 153 kilometers between Pau and Laruns in which there will be five mountain prizes. One fourth, two third and two first category.

Stage 13 (September 11): 191 kilometers between Chatel Guyon and Puy Mary Pas de Peyrol. It will be one of the most difficult stages with seven ascents: two of the third, two of the second and two of the first with a high finish at 8.1% slope.

Stage 15 (September 13): 174 kilometers between Lyon and Grand Colombier. It will be one of the most difficult stages due to its two first-class mountain passes and a category-closing final with 17.4 kilometers at 7.1% slope.

Stage 17 (September 16): 170 kilometers between Grenoble and Mérible Col de la Loze. Another very tough stage. There will be two out-of-category ports at 107 and 160. One of those will be arriving at a 7.8% slope in 21.5 kilometers of ascent.

Stage 18 (September 17): It will be 178 kilometers between Mérible and La Roche Sur Foron. There will be five mountain passes: Two of the first category, one of the second, one of the third and one of out of category with 11.2% of unevenness.

Stage 20 (September 19): 36.2 kilometers between Lure and La Planche des belles filles. It is not a tough mountain stage, but it will be a time trial that ends in a first-rate climb.
