Two brothers were murdered in the rural area of ​​Tarazá, Antioquia – Medellín – Colombia

Tarazá, a municipality of Bajo Cauca in Antioquia, is in shock after the murder of two 17-year-old brothers.

They are Edil Alfonso and Wilmer Andrés Ramírez Martínez who were found dead in the El Solito village on Saturday afternoon.

The family had reported their disappearance since last Thursday, August 27.

According to preliminary information, the youths had reported threats by an illegal group and they would have traveled to Medellín for safety.

According to Deivinson Montero, secretary of government of the municipality, the young people were treated that same Thursday at the office of the Municipal Ombudsman, in the company of the Commissioner of Family and Police for Children and Adolescents to provide other protection measures.

“They were offered again to activate the route for the second time, looking for a home for them, to which they stated that they rejected this option“Montero explained.

The secretary refers to the first action that was carried out to protect minors, which was last month.

“On July 15, the father of the victims activated the evacuation route with the companion of the Municipal Ombudsman and other government entities for the departure of their children from the municipality to the city of Medellín, since these young people had apparently received threats from individuals belonging to an armed group, “explained Ever Yovanni Gómez Reyes, commander (e) of the Antioquia Police Department.

According to the authorities, the illegal group that threatened these twins and who may be the perpetrators of the act has not been identified.

Gómez added that investigations are being carried out by the National Police and in coordination with the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation to clarify this regrettable fact.
