Former FARC combatant assassinated in Bolívar

The party of the Common Alternative Revolutionary Force (Farc) confirmed that It was this Saturday he was murdered in the municipality of Santa Rosa (Bolívar), the veteran Jorgé Iván Ramos, known as ‘Mario Morales’.

The ex-guerrilla participated in the signing of the peace agreement and disarmed in compliance with the agreement.

The Farc party confirmed that the events were recorded in the Palmachica village in the San Lucas mountain range of the Santa Rosa municipality.

Ramos led social processes for the implementation of the agreement between the government and the guerrillas. It was also the second member of the party’s national leadership.

According to the Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz), during 2020 they have been assassinated 43 ex-combatants of the Farc. Since the peace agreement was signed, 225 ex-guerrillas have been assassinated in Colombia.
