The former Dian official, Omar Ambuila, his wife Elba Chará and his daughter Jenny Ambuila, investigated for allegedly being part of a corruption network within the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs DIAN, will regain their freedom due to expiration of terms.

According to the investigation, Omar Ambuila, who worked as head of cargo control in Buenaventura, in association with other Dian officials, facilitated smuggling to import companies, customs agencies and merchants.
The fraud was exposed after the eccentricities of his daughter Jenny were made public, which caused a stir in 2019.
The three members of the Ambuila family will freely face the process they are carrying out against them for money laundering, favor by a public servant, conspiracy to commit a crime and illicit enrichment.
