The court granted him house arrest on the condition that prior to his departure from the prison, he pay a fine. “The convicted person is granted house arrest prior to the payment of security bond for five current Minimum Legal Wages and diligence signing of the commitment.”
Moreno’s defense requested house arrest because the former senator had already served three-fifths of the sentence. The request was made on April 27, that is, 10 days after Decree 546 was issued, with which the Government intends to generate releases to combat the spread of COVID-19 in detention centers.
