The senator’s idea was discussed by panelists from Blu Radio, who see it as very difficult to fulfill. One of them even says that it was thought without taking into account the map of Colombia.
“It is the economic vision of Gustavo Petro: first, an expropriation of Avianca’s assets to be delivered to Satena, and second, it seems that he had not reviewed a map of Colombia to understand that railways are not the connection mechanism between large urban centers and of commerce in the country ”, affirmed Daniel Mejía, analyst of Blu.
For him, it is very different to make a railroad in a flat territory or in European countries than to do it in Colombia where there is a very particular geography and this should not be the alternative connection between cities.
In line with this, Aurelio Suárez, also an analyst for that same station, criticized Petro because he considers this idea of trains to be for short distances. However, he goes further and insinuates that the senator is seeing “the bulls from the sidelines.”
“When you are sitting, doing nothing, because you can think of that kind of thing and you return to supply all the quackery and balloons and esoteric theories,” concluded Suarez.
