A nine-month-old baby and her father died after being attacked with a firearm in a rural area of ​​the municipality. Another child under the age of five remains in critical condition.

Five people who were moving on a motorcycle from the municipality of Buenos Aires to Suárez, in the north of Cauca, were intercepted by heavily armed men at the La Toma township.

“Hooded subjects intercepted a couple who were moving on a motorcycle with three minors and immediately shot them,” said Colonel Rosemberg Novoa, commander of the Cauca Police.

One of the couple’s daughters, five years old, received a bullet to the head. Due to the severity of the injuries, she was transferred to a healthcare center in Cali where she remains in critical condition.

According to witnesses, the victim’s girlfriend and another seven-year-old girl jumped off the motorcycle and hid in the forest.

“The unharmed people is a woman who traveled on the motorcycle and a minor of seven years. Five people were traveling on the motorcycle, ”added Colonel Novoa.

The public force was deployed in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Suárez and to find the whereabouts of those responsible for the double crime.
