The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, announced this Friday a request for apprehension against Venezuelans Juan José Rendón (JJ) Rendón and Sergio Vergara, as well as against the American Jordan Goudreau “for his involvement in the design, financing and execution” of the alleged military incursion against the Maduro regime last Sunday and that the official described as a “warlike action against the territory, the authorities and the people of Venezuela.”

Initially, the press versions from Venezuela included the name of the opposition leader Juan Guaidó in the list of people who would be sheltered with the capture request. However, it was clarified that this information was wrong. Last weekend the same Prosecutor had identified Guaidó as one of the heads of the alleged plot.

Saab reported other 22 arrest warrants that would request, after the incursions that began last Sunday, and for which it has also targeted Colombia and the United States, although both countries have distanced themselves from the fact.
In his statement, the Venezuelan prosecutor also revealed the number, hitherto unknown, of the total number of detainees to date, and which amounts to 31 alleged individuals, “between mercenaries and support team”he said, among them are two Americans.
