Luis Alonso Colmenares he went with everything to the mayor Claudia Lopez before the riots of this March 8 in the center of Bogotá, during the commemoration of International Women’s Day.
The dad of Luis Andrés Colmenares blamed the president for the excesses, where some women tried to burn down a commercial premises, and said those are “The consequences of allowing those who hide in hoods in the marches”.
Then came the insult to López: “Then the mayor comes out, like a dead mosquito, to say that the Esmad it is not to break eyes ”.
Colmenares qualified his message and said that, clearly, the Police are not here to attack, but he stated that those who march cannot break the city, as denounced this Monday, where – even – a church was vandalized.
The consequences of allowing those who hide in hoods in the marches!
And then the mayor comes out @ClaudiaLopez like a dead mosquito to say that ESMAD is not there to break eyes.
Of course not!
But neither can those who march break the city!#LaOpinionDeColmenares https://t.co/ncN8s63iFK– ✏️LUIS COLMENARES R. (@lcolmenaresr) March 9, 2021
Claudia López condemned vandalism on Women’s Day
Before the excesses began, where some feminists tried to expel a cameramanClaudia López was in favor of the marches and described them as “a new opportunity to vindicate the causes.”
The president asked for joy and tranquility, but not all of them paid attention to him.
Today is a new opportunity for the vindication of the causes to be the only protagonist of social mobilization.
I ask everyone involved today to march # 8M2021 begin, develop, and end with joy and ease. pic.twitter.com/X4oDSoHwxW

When some scenarios got out of control, López condemned the vandalism actions and said that violence did not vindicate feminism.
This is not protest or vindication or feminism. Unacceptable that a day dedicated to exalting the struggles and achievements of women in history are taken advantage of by a small group of violent women who believe that to protest is to destroy.
This is not the spirit of # 8M2021 https://t.co/ak3vMhRFBt– Claudia López 👍 (@ClaudiaLopez) March 8, 2021
