This Monday, after the arrival of the first 50,000 doses of Pfizer coronavirus vaccines in Colombia, from Belgium, which will be available for the first day of vaccination in the country, President Iván Duque announced that on Wednesday, February 17, vaccination will begin in the country.

“The vaccination process begins the day after tomorrow, on Wednesday February 17,” were the words of the Head of State.

On the other hand, Verónica Luz Machado Torres, the head nurse of the Hospital Universitario de Sincelejo, Sucre, who works who works in the UCI, that is, in the first line of defense, will be the first vaccinated in the country.

This is the first batch of more than 1,650,000 vaccines that will arrive in the next 30 days, according to the Head of State.

The president reiterated that “here there are no individual triumphs, ideologies or parties,” but what matters is the health of Colombians.

“We have shown that there is an organized, structured plan here,” Duque added.

For his part, the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, said that they will evaluate the vaccination goals in each municipality.

“We have wanted to do this in an orderly and extensive way, so that it is distributed throughout the national territory, and that implies a very large effort on our part to carry freezers”.
