Although in principle it was estimated that the restriction would last until January 28, the District decided to extend it until the red alert in the capital is not exceeded. This is how it will work now.
In order to overcome the second peak of the pandemic, the Mayor of Bogotá announced this week new restrictive measures in the city. For example, there will be a strict quarantine sectorized, no longer by localities, but by UPZ, from January 30 to February 12. Likewise, the District reported that the night curfew will be extended, which was estimated to run until January 28.

However, as of this Friday, January 29, the mobility restriction will not begin at 8:00 at night, but at 10:00 pm and until 4:00 in the morning the next day. This measure will govern both the UPZ neighborhoods that enter isolation (Los Cedros, Castilla, Timiza, Fontibón, Garcés Navas, Boyacá Real, Tibabuyes, Suba and El Rincón), as well as the rest of the city.
It should be remembered that during this period of time, all citizens must remain in their homes and supplies and proceedings will not be allowed after this time. Likewise, people who work as domiciliary in the city are exempt from the measure.
The measure has generated disagreement among the city’s merchants, who claim that its economy cannot bear one more shutdown. Those most affected by the restriction, according to them, are those who are part of the night entertainment sector, who claim to be ready to operate in an organized manner and abide by all biosecurity measures.
